Lyons O'Neill

Our year in review

It’s been a very busy year at Lyons O’Neill: we’ve completed and embarked on an array of exciting new projects, we’ve seen our team grow and we’ve won industry recognition with a number of awards and commendations.

This year, we completed work on Adur Civic Centre, involving a £10m development of an old car park site, and extended the council offices at York House in Windsor. Work also finished at the Royal Greenwich Trust School, where we were lead engineers on a complex school extension, and we helped complete Kent and Medway’s first ever medical school.

Another stand-out project this year was our work on the Paxton Building for Tottenham Hotspur FC, whom we previously worked for on The Lodge. It was brilliant to help create new ticketing, retail and office space for the Club within Lilywhite House, to better serve both fans and staff.

2019 has also seen fantastic progress in our work at Derry’s of Plymouth. This multi-million development will see the former Department Store undergo a complete transformation with four additional storeys added in total, as well as three new internal courtyards.

This year, we’ve been delighted to grow our team and welcome 3 new engineers to Lyons O’Neill. James Protherough, Natalia Lewandowska, and Anna Bergman have all joined us this year and have immediately brought their skills and expertise to bear on our many projects.

In any client-serving role, client satisfaction is the ultimate barometer of success – but getting industry recognition is wonderful too. This year we’ve enjoyed receiving a number of awards and commendations, including being finalists in the Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards for Digital Construction, winning the Design Consortium Award from Willmott Dixon and being Commended for our Nexus Training and Production Facility at the IStructE South Eastern Counties Structural Awards.

It’s been a fantastic year for the Lyons O’Neill team and we can’t wait to discover the new opportunities that the coming year – and decade – will bring.
