We are working on a wide variety of challenging projects ranging in both materials and scale, so we are always looking for Engineers and Technicians of the highest standards. We are currently on the lookout for Graduate & Project Engineers to start in Spring 2022. Graduate & Project Engineers 2022  We are looking for outstanding Graduate Civil, Structural Engineers to join our award winning consultancy. The applicant should have an enthusiasm for sustainability within Engineering and be keen to develop professionally. The successful candidates should have a sound understanding of engineering principles and be expected to achieve a minimum of a two one honours Masters degree. You will be expected to work alongside more senior engineers on all stages of the design including and your role will encompass the following tasks: initial scheme design of options, design development and coordination with other members of the design teams, detailed design calculations, assisting in the preparation of working drawings and details together with site inspections. You will be expected to undertake computer analyses for more complex solutions and engage in our embodied Carbon Assessments. Lyons O’Neill is committed to understanding our Client’s needs and exceeding expectations and you will work as part of our team with full supervision and training as necessary. Sustainability in our Sector

Lyons O’Neill recently facilitated a site visit to Sutton Secondary School: the UK’s largest school constructed from Cross Laminated Timber and to Passivhaus standard, the international standard for low energy design. The live site visit took place yesterday and was organised by Croydon Constructing Excellence Club in conjunction with KLH UK.

Derry’s of Plymouth

The additional 4 storeys on top of the Derry’s department store in Plymouth are well underway with the new courtyards and infill areas also taking shape.  Lyons O’Neill worked hard to prove that the existing foundations were adequate to accept this new load, eliminating the need for additional expensive foundations. Darling House

Darling House has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious SBID International Design Awards 2018 – Residential House Under £1M. An old double garage plot of land, converted to this 3 storey, 3-bedroom family home which exceeded the client’s brief.  The building fills the footprint of the compact site and is a realisation of a complex design process to create flexible and beautiful living spaces within the constraints.  Read more here

St. Nicholas SEN School

Delighted to see this SEN school start on site this week. This project involves the construction of a new 4FE special education needs school building on the site of the current school. The existing school needs to remain operational throughout the construction sequence. Lyons O’Neill have designed the below ground drainage infiltration system to discharge the surface water from the site to the water table. Read more here

Adur Civic Centre

Constructing Excellence Awards 2018 – Building Project of the Year <£10m
